Tiritiri Matangi Trip

Last Thursday 31st of May, we went to an island named Tiritiri Matangi. The island contained many birds that were endemic, native and introduced. It also had no pests on the island such as rats, mice, possums and stoats. We had to be really quiet while we walked through the bush. It was like an outside library! We saw lots of birds! I was really sad that we had to leave the island at the end of the day. I forgot to tell you but we were in little groups that had 1 adult/group leader. Our group included Bruno, Shabeera, Alex and Abby. I learned that the North Island Robin is a male if it has a white patch on its tummy. My favourite part of the trip was when we were on the ferry and we sat on the top where all the wind was. It was amazing! The wind rushed onto our faces and we could barley breathe! Here is a link to the Tiritiri website if you want to visit it yourself; Tiritiri Website. Here are some photos:

I hope you like my work. This was a fun day experiencing new things! Blog Ya Later!
