Des Hunt visited us!

Sup Bloggers, on Wednesday the author Des Hunt visited us and showed us how he writes his books. He also told us how he got his inspiration to start writing books. His first book was called "The Last Tuatara." He actually was a teacher before being an author. He gave the book to everyone in his class and told them to read it. Unfortunately only 4 people made it through the whole book. He then started to look at where he messed up; he then made some conflict and some fighting/arguing with the main character. After a while at the end everything changes. He got rejected by the publishers the first time but now they had said no again to The Last Tuatara. He then made a whole another book named "A Friend In Paradise." The Last Tuatara was then published in 2013. Here are some pictures:

Rubbish Art

Hola everyone, this term for the art show we are going to make a building out of wood and put our soft plastic rubbish inside. We are going to see how much soft plastic rubbish Waikowhai Primary School has collected over 8 weeks time. Here is a slideshow explaining what to put in the soft plastic bin and what not to put in the soft plastic bin.

ANZAC Day

This year's ANZAC Day fell in the holidays. We have been reading books about ANZAC Day and about how animals saved the day or something like that. ANZAC stands for Australia, New Zealand Army Corps. This happened in WW1 and they were fighting for space in Germany. For this piece of work we had to find the differences in the two books that we red. Here are photos of the two books:
