Summer Learning Journey Practise

Hey guys, we are doing a summer learning activity programme. This is just a practice one to get me warmed up. We get awarded points for doing this and also points for getting comments on our blog. This will be done during the summer holidays.
Fact #1: Today 4.4 million New Zealanders rule New Zealand. 64% are European, only 14.6% are Maori, 9.2% are Asian and 6.9% are Non-Maori Pacific Islanders.
Fact #2: Over three quarters of the population in New Zealand is in the North Island. Also 1/3 of the total population living in Auckland.
Fact #3: A person started jumping off illegal places for other people to think that it was safe for other people to do it as well. He invented the bungy jump.

I feel like this is going to be a very fun activity to do over the summer holidays. I am really excited for the holidays to come up so I can do this activity.

  1. Kia ora Ben,

What awesome facts you have found. I really liked your fact about AJ Hackett who invented bungy jumping. He really is a backyard genius. This reminds me of an extreme sport in Vanuatu called land diving, which is where AJ Hackett found his inspiration. Have you thought about whether you would like to do a bungy jump?

I am so excited to hear of your enthusiasm for the Summer Learning Journey. I, too, am excited to get started on the 18th December and read all of your blog posts.

    Have an amazing day Ben,
Megan from the Summer Learning Journey

  3. Kia Ora Ben,

My name is Rachel and I am working with Megan on the Summer Learning Journey programme (SLJ) this year. It's great to see that you've already posted a blog for Day #1, Activity #2. As Megan has mentioned in her previous posts, we would love it if you were able to join us this summer and complete a few more posts for the SLJ. We're having a great time blogging with students from all over New Zealand.

If you're able, please do join us. If not, no problem at all!

Wishing you and your family a very happy holiday season and a great start to 2018.

    All the best,
    Rachel
